The Story Behind Glovebox Guardian
Some of life's best ideas begin with a simple act of love.
The day I got my driver's license, my mom handed me a tiny teddy bear with angel wings and said, "I want you to keep this in the glovebox of your car. This way you'll always know someone is thinking about you, watching over you, and hoping you get wherever you're going safely."
I called him my Angel Bear.
That little bear traveled with me everywhere. Through every car I've owned, every road trip, every milestone, every chapter of life. Even now, decades later, he's still tucked safely inside my glovebox.
When my friend Diana's daughter Izzy got her driver's license, I shared the story of my Angel Bear. That evening I searched online, hoping to find a similar bear to give her. To my surprise, I couldn't find anything small enough to fit comfortably inside a glovebox.
Life got busy and I moved on.
About six weeks later, I received a text message from a mutual friend telling me that Izzy had been involved in a serious car accident and had totaled her mother's car. My heart immediately sank. I reached out to Diana right away, I didn't need any details, I just needed to know that Izzy was okay.
A few moments later, Diana sent me a photo.
In the picture, Izzy was holding a teddy bear with angel wings so large it completely covered her face. It was the only bear Diana had been able to find after hearing my story, beautiful, but far too big to ever fit in a glovebox. Alongside it was a message that simply said:
"She's okay. She had her little buddy watching over her."
At that moment, Glovebox Guardian was born.
I knew there had to be a way to create a small keepsake that could fit perfectly inside a glovebox and carry the same message my mother had given me all those years ago: You are loved. You are thought about. You are never alone.
Soon after, I sat down with my son Braden and shared the idea. Together we decided to build this business side by side. What started as a way to continue a tradition my mom began with me quickly became something much bigger.
